MEET THE AUTHORS

MICHAEL A. YORK, E.A.

Michael A. York, E.A. has spent his life in the tax business. Starting at 8 years old, he began helping in the family business, learning the ropes, and gaining experience on how to run a successful tax practice, which was in operation for 41 years. In 2016 he opened the doors to Michael A. York & Associates, LLC, a firm specializing in tax preparation and tax planning for individuals and small businesses. Since that time he has grown the business to over half a million in revenue, and has spoken professionally on the topics of taxation issues for elders, retirement planning, small business tax strategies, and tax implications for high income salaried employees. He is working on his first book and developing an app on easy-to-understand tax savings ideas.

Michael is a lifelong baseball fanatic. He started the 38 Foundation to help teach parents and players the importance of education, teamwork, and unity through baseball.

He and his wife, Crystal (who manages the firm’s financial services practice), live in Salt Lake City, Utah with their three daughters.

ANDREW STEVENS, E.A., M.B.A.

Andrew Stevens is an experienced entrepreneur and corporate strategist. Most recently he launched and managed a successful corporate team building and entertainment company in Houston, Texas, and prior to that he worked as a Director of Corporate Development and Due Diligence for a global telecom company. After business school he spent 5 years as an M&A strategy consultant with Deloitte, specializing in post-merger integration, pre-deal screening, due diligence, and corporate restructuring. He also brings nearly a decade of experience in the tax and financial planning business. He earned a BS in Finance from the University of Utah, and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.

Andy is an accomplished pistol shooter with several state and regional championship titles, and is a long-time Brazilian Jiu-jitsu hobbyist.

He and his wife, Gowri, live in Houston, Texas where she practices medicine. They welcomed their first son last September.
